  • Signature Retail Pontefract

    Following feedback from parents over school uniform we have made it easier and more accesible for parents/guardians to purchase items for school. Signature retail in Pontefract have provided school uniforms for over 30 years. Situated in our nearest town you are now able to go in store to view/purchase items, you can also buy online. Signature retail also offers fancy dress items which may also come in handy for our school theme days!

  • Lost Property and Uniform

    16th November 2015

    With the colder weather drawing in we have noticed an increase in pupils misplacing uniform. Anything we find that does not have a name in goes into our lost property. We keep all lost property in the conservatory for parents/guardians to look through when they come to collect children from school. Please can we emphasise that you place your child’s name in any items of clothing. This includes PE Kits. We always endeavour to return any lost items.

  • West Yorkshire Playhouse

    13th November 2015

    We are inviting all our children in Upper Foundation to attend a trip to the West Yorkshire Playhouse on Tuesday the 1st of December. This is to watch the enchanting tale of the Night Before Christmas.

  • Thwaite Mills Museum

    9th November 2015

    We have planned a visit for our Year 1 and Year 2 class to Thwaite Mills Museum. All children are invited to dress up in Victorian attire for the day. Please see the letter below for more information. All children will be provided with a packed for the trip.

  • Scary Day

    On our last day of the school term we had a scary themed day in anticipation of halloween. All of our children dressed up as something scary. Our kitchen team put on a themed lunch for all our children to take part in! Please take a look at our scary pictures! 

     

  • School Attendance

    28th September 2015

    We are five weeks into our new school year and our school attendance so far has been impressive. Please look at our attendance page for attendance incentives and schemes which we run in our academy.

     The national expected standard attendance is 95%, so anything above this is excellent. Below 95% is nationally considered poor attendance. May we also remind parents that the Local Authority and School Partnership Trust do not authorise holidays in term time.

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning

    24th September 2015

    A huge well done to Jeremy's Club for hosting their second Macmillan Coffee Morning. They invited parents/carers to attend and all children and staff to dress in anything but uniform! They raised an amazing £324.15 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you to everyone who contributed buns and cakes for the bake off competition. Our well-deserved winner was 🏆 Jack 🏆 from year 2 will his bright and colourful cake. Well done Jack!

  • Year 5 and 6 Residential Trip

    Our year 5 and 6 pupils had an amazing time on their recent residential trip to Kingswood Peak Venture. Pupils took part in activities such as the archery, the zipwire, quad biking and the terryfying leap of faith.

  • Swap Shop Open for Business!

    1st June 2015

    As part of our new, updated behaviour policy we operate a 'swap shop' in school.

    All children earn smiley face points throughout the day. These are recorded in the classroom and on a computer based programme. The points are earned for attendance, punctuality and displaying any of our LEARNER behaviours.

    If children don't show these they get sad face points which are taken off of their total. As the week and term progress the points accumulate and, once they have enough, children can swap their points for priz

    On the 8th of May we had a special visit from the The Mid Yorkshire Hospital Trust who are activley promoting healthy smiles in our Local Community!

    We have had lots of fun being shown how to brush our teeth in Nursery and Upper Foundation. We now brush our teeth in nursery every day!
